What happens if I have to miss a scheduled shift?
As an independent caregiver, you are responsible for managing your clients. But life happens. If an emergency comes up, you should immediately contact your client. You can also let us know through the platform or by phone as soon as possible. We’ll refer a replacement if the client requests one, so your client isn’t left without a caregiver.
What kind of support does Heart and Home Care offer?
While you're in charge of your schedule and client load, we’re here when you need us. We provide tech support and communication tools to make the process smooth and professional.
How does the 1099 contractor model work?
As an independent contractor, you’re your own boss. You set your schedule and your rates, decide which clients to take, and manage your clients. You’ll handle your own taxes — but most caregivers find they earn more and have more freedom this way.
How do I get matched with clients?
We use a simple but smart system that considers your availability, skills, experience, and objective preferences. You’ll get notified when a compatible client is seeking a caregiver, and you decide whether to pursue that opportunity. You and the client will decide whether to work together.
What if something goes wrong with a client?
If anything feels off with a client, you and your client always have the right to end the relationship and request a different match. We can help resolve things quickly, fairly, and with your safety in mind — but we cannot dictate any term or condition on you or your client.
How often will I get paid?
You are paid by the clients for whom you provide services. Client payments are processed weekly through a secure platform. You’ll receive direct deposit for the hours worked the previous week — simple, steady, and predictable.
Can I find clients through other registries and have private clients too?
Absolutely. As a 1099 caregiver, you can register with multiple platforms or registries or obtain clients through other means. We just ask for transparency around your availability so we can make the best matches for you and for clients.
